The first Punjab Bhawan on foreign lands was inaugurated in Surrey on Sunday. The project was initiated by a Canada based Punjabi Entrepreneur & philanthropist Mr Sukhi Bath, and is dedicated to late Arjun Singh Bath, Father of Sukhi Bath.

The Bhawan was inaugurated in by Gian Kaur Bath, daughter of Arjun Singh and their great grand-daughter Nimrata Bath. Mr Sukhi Bath & his Son In Law Mr Raj Dhatt addressed to media and local guest and shared upcoming plans & vision of this initiative.Prominent writer of Punjabi Language Mr Gurbhajan Gill was also addressed to media during the event. Mr Sukhi Bath is already involved in various social activities in Canada & India.On the occasion Sukhi Bath announced that this platform would be one of unique platform of all communities based in Canada.he said Punjab Bhawan will keep its doors open for the Punjabi World and other activities for the welfare and development of Punjabi brotherhood. FYI Media Co-founder Mr Tirath Singh & Chardikla Group director Mr Satbir Singh also present during the event. A "Hall of Fame" having photographs of prominent Punjabi writers, poets, singers, social workers and other prominent Punjabi personalities was inaugurated in beginning of the ceremony. Apart from Canada, certain prominent thinkers, writers and journalists also attended the inaugural function.
